Let us start with the thing most people get wrong about this, because it changes how you should read everything below.
Adhésion à la communauté is not an investment. It is not a small entry ticket to the solar project, it is not a discounted share, and it does not fund the power plant. It is a €200 one-time fee that gives you a plot of land, a place in a 500-person community, and — if you want it — a box of food every three weeks. The solar financing is a completely separate thing, with separate documentation, separate regulation and separate money.
You can be a member without ever investing. You can invest without ever becoming a member. Neither requires the other.
What €200 Actually Buys
A one-time payment of €200 makes you a Solar Plus Garden community member. That gets you:
- A 3×3 metre plot on the Solar Plus Garden site, cultivated in your name.
- Community access — barbecues, workshops, educational visits, family days on the site.
- Free coffee on site, which sounds trivial and turns out not to be, because it means the site is somewhere you can actually turn up and spend an afternoon.
- A place among 500. The plot count is capped by the land available.
There is no monthly fee attached to membership itself. The €200 is paid once — and it is only charged if the project goes ahead. Registering your interest today costs nothing.
Your Plot — and Why It Has Three Zones
Your 3×3 metre plot sits on land that is doing two jobs at once. This is agrivoltaïsme: solar panels above, food growing below and around them. That arrangement creates three distinct light conditions across a single small plot, and each one suits different crops.
Zone A — Shade, directly under the panels
Lettuce, spinach, lovage. Fast-cycling leafy crops that are perfectly happy out of direct sun — in a Vojvodina summer, happier than they would be in the open.
Zone B — Semi-shade
Mint, basil, lemon balm, rocket, radish, spring onion. The herbs and quick roots that want light but not relentless heat.
Zone C — Full sun, beyond the panel edge
Cherry tomatoes, peppers, courgettes. The crops that need everything the sun will give them.
The zoning is not decoration. It is the reason a plot of this size produces a genuine variety rather than nine square metres of the same lettuce.
The Garden Box — Optional, and Separate Again
Membership gives you the plot. The Jardinière is what turns that plot into food arriving at your door, and it is a separate optional subscription:
- €20 per month, or €240 per year.
- 18 deliveries a year, roughly every 20 days through the growing season.
- 4–6 items per box. About 80% comes from your own plot; the remaining 20% from local producers — honey, eggs, potatoes, onions, carrots.
- Delivered by electric vehicle, to Novi Sad and Belgrade.
Two things to be clear about. Delivery covers Novi Sad et Belgrade seulement — if you live elsewhere, the plot is still yours but the box is not practical. And Garden Box pricing is set each Q4 for the following year, because what a box costs depends on a growing season nobody can price eighteen months ahead. Cancellation works on the same cycle: once a year, in Q4, effective from the following year.
Why Only 500 Members
Because there are 500 plots. The number comes from the land, not from a marketing decision about scarcity. One solar installation, a finite area beneath and around it, 3×3 metres each.
It does mean membership is genuinely limited, and that when the phases open the places will not last indefinitely. But the cap is a physical constraint being described, not a pressure tactic.
How This Relates to the Solar Project
Physically: the same land, the same site, the same project team. Your plot is on the centrale solaire, under and around real panels feeding real electricity into the grid.
Financially: they are separate. Membership fees fund the community and garden side — the plots, the cultivation, the events, the delivery. The power plant is financed through the investment routes described in Comment fonctionne l'investissement solaire ?, under an entirely different regulatory framework.
This separation is deliberate and it protects you. A €200 community membership is a consumer purchase with a clear deliverable. It carries none of the risk, none of the lock-up and none of the regulatory weight of an investment — because it is not one.
If You Want Both
Plenty of people will. Investors who also want a plot simply do both things: participate in a funding phase through the authorised platform, and take up membership separately. There is no bundle, no discount for combining them, and no requirement to.

Do I have to grow anything myself?
No. The plot is cultivated in your name by the project team. You are welcome on site — that is much of the point — but the work does not fall to you.
Is the €200 an investment in the solar plant?
No. It is a community membership fee, entirely separate from project financing, and it carries no return, no shareholding and no claim on project income.
Do I have to take the Garden Box?
No. It is optional and priced separately. Membership stands on its own.
What if I live outside Novi Sad or Belgrade?
Delivery is limited to those two cities. Membership, plot and site access still apply — the box does not.
Can I visit my plot?
Yes. Site visits, workshops and community events are a core part of what membership is for.
What happens to my membership if the solar project is delayed?
The garden and the power plant are on the same site, so timing is connected in practice even though the money is not. Members are notified directly of any change to plot allocation or the delivery schedule.
What if the project never goes ahead?
Then you are not charged. The €200 is only collected if the project proceeds — registering your interest now involves no payment at all.
Community membership is a consumer service, not a financial product. It confers no shareholding, no interest, no entitlement to project income and no investment return. Garden Box pricing and contents vary by season and are confirmed annually in Q4. Delivery is limited to Novi Sad and Belgrade.
